The Lord's hand in all things-even sickness
Well a crazy thing happened in our lives this last couple of days, and I felt the need to share it. As far as my lessons go I have been trying to prepare on Sunday for the following Sunday so that I can stay ahead of the game. Well I read lesson 41 3 times and didn't get an idea to go off of like I usually do. I thought that was odd, but just figured I've done that lesson so many different ways, that I thought it might take longer to come up with a new idea, I pondered all week and still nothing came. On Thursday Savanah came down with a high fever and no matter what happened her temperature kept going up. I mentioned to Keith that perhaps I should get a sub for my class on Sunday just in case she had the swine flu, he told me not to be silly, she would definately be better by then. Well Savanah kept getting worse and nothing helped. Friday night I went to bed in a panic, I did have an idea for my lesson, but it just wasn't coming together. Savanah was still sick and I told Keith I felt bad for asking anyone to sub with only 1 day to prepare. I went to bed and hoped that my lesson would come together. About 5 am Keith coughed in my face and I rolled over, he assumed I was awake and called my name. I said, "what" he said, "I've been lying here awake and I just got an impression for your lesson, I will give it for you" I said, "are you sure" he said "yes," got up and prepared the lesson, then went to work. Well, he was at work for several hours when Savanah woke up ran into my room, jumped on my bed all happy. I felt her head and she was perfectly fine. Not an ounce of sickness in her. Not recognizing what happened, I figured I could still give a lesson and tried to call keith at work to tell him I could do my lesson. His phone was turned off-oddly enough. I went throughout the day thinking that perhaps my lesson would come, I would write it that night and give it the next morning-nothing came. Well I talked to Keith when he finally got done with work and told him I could give my lesson if he wanted. He said, "No, I already have it written, no big deal. " We then went to church the next day and he gave the lesson. The lesson he delivered was very powerful, the spirit was very strong and couldn't have been delivered by me in the same way. As he was speaking I thought of my idea for the lesson and thought that it might be a good addition to his lesson at this point. As I thought it, Keith did it, the idea I had been thinking about. I asked him about it later and he told me that the idea he came up with was spur of the moment and he hadn't prepared that at all. After church we talked and compared stories, when we did, we both realized that it was the Lord's hand in that lesson that needed to be delivered by Keith as Bishop, not me. Once again our great Father in Heaven was showing us that He is always in charge and that there are no coincidences. Incidentally, after church today I read the lesson for next week and an idea came and I wrote it all in a couple of hours. Not one problem or hang-up. Next week's lesson is posted before this one. I know that the Lord is in charge of all things, including the timing of one little girls' sickness and healing all so her parents could see the Lord's hand in their lives once again. In the name of Jesus Christ Amen.
